The newest member of the International Test Centre Network (ITCN) has been revealed as the Research Institute of Innovative Technology for the Earth (RITE).

21 July 2018

The first Japanese centre to join the network, RITE was established in July 1990 as a center of excellence which would work internationally toward implementing Japan’s “New Earth 21” plan, a 100-year strategy to clean up the natural environment and address serious issues of global warming.

Headed up by Yoichi Kaya, RITE has over 160 employees and regularly carries out R&D activities, particularly for the mitigation of global warming, including R&D on carbon dioxide capture and storage, biorefinery technologies and scenario studies on the paths for mitigating global warming.
